STAC Ups the Ante in Fundraising

The folks at the Security Traders Association in Chicago can definitely play the role of the blind – both small and large – as the organization continues its philanthropy.

On Thursday, October 13th, STAC held its annual Texas HoldEm Tournament. This events draws 200+ poker players competing for prizes and bragging rights. This years event took place at Gibson and Hugos Frog Bar and featured other gaming activities for non-poker players. Proceeds go to the STAC Fund – the groups scholarship fund.

In 2015, the STAC Scholarship Fund made $30,000 in scholarship grants, nearly a 70% increase over 2014, awarding six $6,000 scholarships.

According to STAC estimates, the event likely raised about $25,000.

The Security Traders Association of Chicago has made community service a priority and as a result, garnered the STA 2014 Biggest Heart Award. Below are some examples of how STAC members are giving back and how you can help.
