Professional Trading Solutions Acquires Sterling Trader

Call it the merger of two trading vendors pooling their assets to grow business.

Professional Trading Solutions (PTS), a vendor of technology and trading solutions has announced it is acquiring Sterling Trader, a provider of global equity trading platforms, direct market access and risk mitigation and compliance tools.

The acquisition of Sterling Trader and its global client base enhances PTS’ technology offerings in a bid to also grow its customer base, according to a statement from PTS. PTS is a solutions provider for active and professional traders, as well as hedge funds and prop trading groups.

“As part of PTS, we will have greater resources at our disposal,” said Steve Sierszulski, president of Sterling. “We have already been working with PTS to enhance functionality and develop new products. We look forward to introducing new enhancements in the coming months.”

Chicago-based Sterling provides over 5,000 users with broker-neutral connectivity to over 100 trading destinations globally and supports equity, options, and futures trading. The company supports equity trading in the U.S., Canadian and Brazilian equity markets.

Currently, the Sterling product line includes Sterling Trader Pro, a direct market access trading platform, Sterling Trader Elite, an institutional platform, and Sterling Trader Manager, a trading and risk management platform.

Sterling Trader will remain in Chicago and operate as a business unit of Professional Trading Solutions.
