Weeden & Co. promoted B. Todd Trimmer and Lance F. Lonergan to co-chief executive officers. They were both sales managers there at one time and later oversaw the firm’s entire sales trading effort. Trimmer has spent his entire 19-year career at Weeden & Co. Lonergan spent 15 years at Citigroup, before joining Weeden in 2007.
Andy Peer joins BTIG’s New York office as a senior vice president and institutional sales trader. Peer, a 19-year veteran, spent the last 18 months at Instinet. Prior to that he was with ITG for 15 years. He started his career on Wall Street with the equity trading division at Lehman Brothers. Peer reports to Rick Blank, head of global equities.
Lake Oswego, Oregon-based broker D.A. Davidson hires Tim Bricker as a managing director and head of equity trading. Bricker, a 20-year veteran, is headquartered in the Oregon office but oversees the firm’s trading desks in Boston, Denver and Great Falls. Prior to Davidson, he was head of West Coast sales trading office for FBR Capital Markets and was also head of the institutional trading desk for Citigroup’s West Coast office. Bricker also spent seven years with Columbia Management, where he was an equity trader and partner of the firm.
Jessica Hansel joins Citi as an equity salesperson for Velocity, the bank’s research portal. Hansel, a six-year sales veteran, comes from Knight Capital group, where most recently she was salesperson for small- and mid-cap equity research. She also did stint at Donaldson and Co. in commission management sales, which Knight acquired in 2003. She reports to Jim Mahn.
ConvergEx names Michael Hutner and A.J. De Rosa as co-heads of global sales for the firm’s Eze order management system. In their respective roles, De Rosa will focus on new client sales, while Hutner’s primary role is business development with existing clients. Based in New York, they report to chief executive Tom Gavin.
Hutner, who joined Eze Castle Software in 2000, was responsible for starting Eze’s client service office in New York and oversaw East Coast operations before being promoted to managing director of global business development in 2006. Before joining Eze, he was a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
De Rosa, who joined Eze Castle Software in 2002, has held various positions at the company, including head of new client sales for North America. Prior to joining Eze, De Rosa worked for Financial Models Co. and Thomson Financial.
