ON THE MOVE: KCG Hires a Pair; BoA’s Lynch Joins Senior Relationship Team

KCG hired electronic sales trader Ciro Ambrosio. Ambrosio, a veteran with 14 years experience, will manage and grow client relationships with hedge funds, institutions and broker-dealers, as well as provide execution consulting to algorithmic clients with a focus on TCA, algorithm selection, execution quality, market structure and technical advice. Prior, he was vice president, electronic sales trading at RBC Capital Markets where he was involved in the successful launch and global distribution of RBC’s electronic trading platform and smart-order router, THOR. He started his career at CIBC World Markets on the electronic trading desk and helped create a unified U.S. and Canadian equity trading platform. He reports to Chris Amorello and Steve Kay.

The firm also hired Anthony Abenante as a senior advisor to the firm’s Global Execution Services business. Abenante, a 15 year pro, will provide strategic counsel on the development of KCG’s institutional equities business, including algorithmic and EMS product offerings as well as traditional worked order trading services. He will work with Greg Tusar, head of Global Execution Services. He was most recently co-CEO of Instinet and initially responsible for Instinet’s Americas business and global technology efforts. He joined Nomura Securities International in August 2003 as head of U.S. equity sales and trading to help re-build the company’s U.S. equity offerings, including its quantitative trading and EMS platforms, before playing an integral role in the acquisition of Instinet. Prior to Nomura, he spent 10 years at Investment Technology Group, most recently as director and head of institutional sales. Abenante started his career at Morgan Stanley and worked in trading technology for the company in New York, Frankfurt and London.

Pan-European independent broker Neonet Securities hired buysider Johan Erikson as its new head of execution services. Erikson will spearhead the revamp of Neonet’s execution offering and will be responsible for expanding Neonet’s Commission Sharing Agreement (CSA) business. Prior, Erikson was global head of trading for DnB Asset Management. Before that, he spent 10 years at sellside institutions before switching to the buyside in 2000.

Michael Lynch has joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Americas Global Markets Senior Relationship Management team. Lynch, a market veteran with 31 years experience, will in his new role manage some of the firm’s most important clients. The Global SRM team is responsible for developing and implementing a global strategic approach to BofA Merrill’s priority clients across products within global markets and offers a single point of contact for client’s senior management. He most recently was head of Americas Cash Distribution. He has also worked at Lehman and Salomon Brothers.
