>>Kurt Schliemann will join JPMorgan’s electronic trading group in June to run its sales effort in San Francisco. Schliemann, who has spent his 11-year brokerage career with ITG, will join JPMorgan as a managing director. He was previously a managing director with ITG and ran its West Coast sales and trading effort since 2004. He oversaw six sales traders for ITG in San Francisco and was focused primarily on domestic equities.


>>Paul Powers joins Raymond James as its new head of U.S. equity sales trading. Powers, an 18-year veteran, spent his last 12 years at Oppenheimer and CIBC, where he was co-head of U.S. equity principal and sales trading. He reports to Dan McMahon, director of equity trading.


>>Peter Kaufman joins Maxim Group as a senior vice president of institutional sales trading in the firm’s Boca Raton, Fla. office. Kaufman, a veteran of more than 18 years, spent the last five years at Noble Financial Capital Markets. Before that, he was a trader at Geduld Capital Management, a long/short hedge fund. Maxim recently announced it was expanding its research, sales and trading and wealth management groups.


>> Renaissance Capital hired three veterans to its equities trading group. The firm named Charles Croney as managing director and head of international equity trading and Victor Radeff as director, international equity trader, in New York. John Heisel joins as a vice president, equity sales trader, in Moscow.


>>Bruce Feiner joins agency broker Abel/Noser as senior vice president of the transition management sales team. Feiner, a 22-year veteran, will help clients with benchmarking and overall portfolio restructuring due to manager changes, timing and risk restrictions. He comes from BNY ConvergEx. Feiner has spent his entire career in transition management and commission recapture programs at BNY Mellon, Instinet and Lynch, Jones & Ryan. Also, he was previously the chairman and is a current member of the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association Advisory Board. He reports to Peter Weiler, executive vice president of sales.


>>James Smyth joins Cantor Fitzgerald as a managing director and head of its retail equity broker-dealer group. Smyth, a 35-year veteran, will be responsible for building out the broker-dealer business and overseeing client relationships, including execution of retail order flow. Prior, he was an executive vice president at Knight Equity Markets, where he oversaw that firm’s retail and fixed income broker-dealer business. Before that, he was president of Broadcort Capital, a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch. He reports to Jarrod Kessler, global head of equities.


>>Ralph Ercole, Randy Hughes and Scott Fullman join Oppenheimer & Co.’s equities derivatives group in New York. They report to Jay Huber, a managing director in institutional trading in equity capital markets.

Ercole, a 30-year veteran, joins Oppenheimer from Vicis Capital Management, where he formulated volatility strategies globally. Prior to joining Vicis, he was a senior derivatives specialist for companies including O’Connor & Associates, Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers and Knight Financial.

Hughes, a 28-year veteran with stints at UBS and Solly, joins from WJB Capital Group. Previously, he worked for Jefferies & Co. where he was a producing manager and was in charge of recruiting the derivatives sales team.

Fullman, a 33-year veteran, is both an options trader and a commentator who has appeared on financial TV and written for The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s, as well has having published two books on options strategies. He began his trading career at Shearson American Express and worked at Cowen & Co., Swiss American Securities and Hapoalim Securities.


>> Citigroup installed three veterans as global product managers. Dan Keegan, formerly head of electronic trading, was made global head of cash trading at Citi. Keegan now oversees sales and trading for high-touch, electronic execution and program trading.

Mike Pringle, global head of equities trading, is now global head of the Delta One business. The Delta One desk trades exchange-traded funds and other equity derivatives that move in lockstep with the underlying asset. Pringle will continue to oversee global convertibles and corporate equity derivatives origination.

Simon Yates, formerly head of equity derivatives for the Americas, is now global head of equity derivatives. The department trades such products as listed and over the counter options-both the plain-vanilla type and the more complex variations. Functionally, Yates’ oversight includes direct market access, direct strategy access and market making.

All three report to global head of equities Derek Bandeen.


>> Auriga USA, a broker-dealer affiliate of Spain’s Auriga Global Investors, Sociedad de Valores, has been building out its sales trading effort over the last year.

Ladi Adebonojo, with more than 20 years’ experience, joined in September. He was previously with Capstone Investments. Prior to Capstone, Adebonojo worked at Wedbush Securities, Siebert Capital Markets and First Albany Corp.

Chris Beyer, with more than 25 years’ experience, joined Auriga in August to run its institutional trading effort, after two years at Collins Stewart in New York, where he covered mainly health-care accounts. He’s held senior trading and sales trading roles at Cowen & Co. and Natixis Bleichroeder.

Reynolds Ospina, a 17-year veteran, joins as a managing director from WJB Capital. Ospina was hired to develop a West Coast presence. Richard Striefler, with more than 25 years’ experience, joined Auriga USA as a sales trader in November. Patrick Kilcooley, with more than 15 years’ experience, also joins. He is a longtime trader with stints at Charles Schwab Capital Markets, DLJ, Lehman Brothers, Van der Moolen and Hapoalim.


 

 

>> DirectMarkets, which links issuers with institutional investors, made three executive hires. Jim Feingold joins DirectMarkets as global head of investor sales. Feingold, a 27-year industry veteran, was previously global head of sales and marketing during a five-year stint at the EMS Portware. Earlier, he headed North American sales at Progress Software’s Apama, an algorithmic trading provider. He reports to DirectMarkets CEO Kevin Lupowitz.

Richard "Rick" Moore joins as director of investor sales. Moore, a veteran of more than 20 years, has held senior sales positions at Pipeline Trading, Lazard Capital and Instinet.

Matthew D. Bekerman joins as general counsel. He was previously assistant general counsel at Liquidnet Holdings.


 

 

>> Angela Stulley joins Portware as head of partner sales and marketing. Stulley, a 15-year veteran, comes from Wolverine Trading, where she spent the last two years running sales and marketing. She previously worked at NYSE Arca (formerly Archipelago). At Portware, she will take the lead on fostering broker relationships. She reports to the company’s chief executive officer, Alfred Eskandar.
