Eventus Launches New Compliance System for Brokers and Traders

The buy- and sell-side are getting a new choice when it comes to automating their risk management and compliance systems.

Eventus Systems, a spinoff from RGM Advisors, an equity market trading firm, has launched Validus, an enterprise run-time risk and compliance platform for traders, brokers and clearing firms. The automated system will automate many manual functions and reduce firms’ financial, regulatory, counterparty, operational and technology risk profiles, according to the Eventus.

Eventus fuses technology, intelligent data and deep financial services expertise led by a veteran management team, including Travis Schwab, the former chief executive of RGM Securities Jeff Bell, formerly the chief executive of Lime Brokerage and head of the Clearing and Technology Group at Wedbush Securities.

“Validus is unlike anything else out there in the market,” said Bell . “In order to have true risk surveillance, firms need a run-time solution to identify and address risk issues immediately. Through the latest advancements in data management, we’ve created a platform that will give all key stakeholders, including risk managers and compliance officers, peace of mind, knowing that they have a truly independent and comprehensive assessment of their financial, regulatory, counterparty, operational and technology risk at all times.”

Validus features “multi-stream data reconciliation,” a new way to capture and organize data flows and then process, reconcile, transform and pipeline that data in order to accurately report on risk. The platform is built to deliver scalability and high performance, with the proven ability to process billions of messages.

According to the firm, Validus is the only enterprise run-time platform for trading risk and compliance, looking across front-, middle- and back-office functions. It has been in beta testing within an undisclosed automated trading firm to test its capabilities.
