Deutsche Bank Hires Quartet for European Trading Desk

German-based Deutsche Bank has hired a quartet of trading professionals for its European trading desk.
The bank has hired Stuart Ansell, Mike Duff, Ronak Patel and Robert McDermott. McDermott has already joined the bank while the other three start later this summer.

Ansell comes onboard as a director. He joined in a senior electronic sales trading capacity after 17 years at BankAmerica Merrill Lynch. Most recently, he was responsible for managing the EMEA electronic sales trading team at BAML. He starts September 28 and reports to Edgar Harty and Yashar Asl , co-heads of Autobahn Equity Europe.

Duff joins also as a director. He also starts as a senior electronic sales trading capacity after 5 years at Bank America Merrill Lynch. While at BAML , Duff was responsible for Institutional electronic sales. Previously he was employed by UBS and ICAP where he performed similar portfolio trading and electronic trading roles. He also begins on September 28th and reports to Edgar Harty and Yashar Asl, co-heads of Autobahn Equity Europe.

Patel was hired as a vice president. He comes to Deutsche Bank after a distinguished career at Instinet in equities execution services. Prior to Instinet, Patel was previously employed by Nomura and Lehman Brothers in a similar capacity. He starts July 20th and reports to Edgar Harty and Yashar Asl, co-heads of Autobahn Equity Europe.

Lastly, McDermott joined the desk on June 22nd as director, global head of client commission management. In his role, McDermott is responsible for all functional aspects of commission sharing arrangements and client commission arrangements, including sales, client relationship management, regulatory reform, operations and technology development. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he spent 17 years at Goldman Sach where he was executive director and EMEA head of client commission management & equities regulatory reform at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman, he was head of fixed income operations at Deutsche Bank. He reports to Andrew Morgan and Robert Casebourne, co-heads of global electronic trading.
