NYSE Technologies and market maker Citadel Securities are offering real-time grey sheets quote data.
Buysiders and sellsiders can access over-the-counter bid/ask quotes for 6,500 international stocks and ADRs not listed on any exchange but still traded. Such stocks have been dubbed the “grey sheets.” Citadel will be supply the quotes.
The real-time two-sided quote feed is delivered by the NYSE’s SuperFeed data tape.
The service contrasts with other data services that provide limited data on these types of stocks, such as last traded price, or that do not cover the breadth of stocks in which Citadel will make markets.
Prior to this, grey sheet data was incomplete; institutions either couldn’t get quotable markets in these securities at all or could only get limited information, such as last sale. Citadel, a NYSE Euronext market maker, is responsible for creating live actionable trade data, said Tom Watson, vice president, global market data, NYSE Technologies.
