Trillium Surveyor Partners with Blue Ocean Technologies

Trillium Surveyor and Blue Ocean Technologies have announced a strategic partnership to integrate Blue Ocean’s overnight NMS ATS pre and post-trade data onto Trillium’s trade surveillance platform.

Lisa Balter Saacks

“Our integration with Blue Ocean Technologies brings the same level of surveillance rigor to overnight sessions as during the standard trading day. This industry-first milestone enables firms to detect manipulation, address compliance risks quickly, and maintain continuous oversight across all hours of trading,” Lisa Balter Saacks, President of Trillium Surveyor, told Traders Magazine.

Through this partnership, Trillium Surveyor has become the first trade surveillance provider to cover overnight trading sessions.

This integration enables clients using Trillium Surveyor to seamlessly monitor trading activity that occurs during Blue Ocean’s overnight trading sessions, which run from 8:00pm and 4:00am ET, Sunday through Thursday.

For active traders operating across global markets and time zones, 24/5 trade surveillance empowers participants to keep pace with global trading hours and trade confidently during overnight sessions, knowing their activity is fully monitored for compliance, Balter Saacks explained.

“It supports firms with around-the-clock strategies by aligning oversight capabilities with the pace and structure of modern global markets,” she said.

“With comprehensive oversight now in place, institutions can pursue more active overnight strategies, including liquidity provision and price discovery,” she added.

Through our integration, firms now have the assurance to unlock opportunities that were previously approached with caution due to limited visibility and monitoring, Balter Saacks said.

She further said that the partnership reflects the market’s shift toward continuous trading and infrastructure modernization.

“As demand grows for extended trading hours, firms need tools that offer 24/5 transparency and compliance to stay competitive,” she commented.

“We see this as a necessary step in supporting a global, always-on market structure that enables participants to trade at any hour,” she said.

“Trillium Surveyor’s oversight for 24/5 trading marks an important first for the industry,” said John
Willock, Head of Strategy & Market Data at Blue Ocean Technologies. “This partnership aligns with
our mission to provide market participants with the infrastructure and safeguards required to trade
responsibly around the clock.”
