      ON THE MOVE: Scotiabank Appoints Mithra Warrier; Geoffroy Samarcq to RBC

      Mithra Warrier

      Mithra Warrier will join Scotiabank as Managing Director, Global Head of Financing Sales, effective August 4, 2025. Based in New York, Mirtha will lead the Bank’s global sales teams for Collateral Management & Funding and Prime Services. With over 20 years of capital markets experience, Warrier brings a breadth of leadership experience from multiple financial institutions and a strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Most recently, she oversaw Sales and Capital Introduction for the North American Prime Services division of Citigroup.

      RBC Capital Markets has hired Geoffroy Samarcq to oversee the Quantitative Investment Solutions (QIS) Structuring team. Samarcq joins from JPMorgan Chase & Co. where he worked as Managing Director – Head of US Cross Asset & Global FICC Strategic Indices Structuring since 2021. Prior to that he was at Bank of America Corp. and Goldman Sachs.

      Dave Howson

      Dave Howson, Executive Vice President and Global President at Cboe Global Markets, will be stepping down from the role effective August 1, 2025. Howson will be returning home to the UK after spending three years in Chicago in his role as Global President. Cathy Clay, EVP and Global Head of Derivatives, and Chris Isaacson, EVP and Chief Operating Officer, are expanding their global leadership roles within the company. In addition to her current role overseeing the Global Derivatives business consisting of equity and index options and futures, Clay’s responsibilities will be expanded to provide oversight of the Cboe Data Vantage business. In addition to his current role overseeing Technology, Operations and Risk, Isaacson’s responsibilities will be expanded to include oversight of Cash Equities, Global FX and Clearing.

      FINRA has appointed Stephen Luparello as a public governor on its Board of Governors. Luparello most recently served as Managing Director and General Counsel of Citadel Securities from 2017 until his retirement in 2022. He was Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Trading & Markets from 2014 to 2017, where he oversaw policy related to secondary markets and intermediaries.

      Gary Paulin

      Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Gary Paulin as chief investment strategist, International and Joseph Tanious as chief investment strategist, North America. Paulin has spent nine years with Northern Trust, most recently as head of international enterprise client solutions. He joined the firm in 2016 following the acquisition of Aviate Global LLP, where he was co-founder. Tanious joins Northern Trust from Bessemer Trust, where he was most recently a managing director and head of portfolio strategy and construction. At Bessemer Trust, he led the Asset Allocation Committee, was a member of the Investment Policy and Strategy Committee and oversaw US$200 billion in assets under supervision.

      Broadridge Financial Solutions has appointed Gemma Cowie as Head of Global Growth Solutions within its Data and Analytics business. Cowie joins Broadridge from Royal London Asset Management, where she served as Head of Strategy, driving future product and business strategy aligned to growth and innovation. Prior to this, she held senior roles at Neuberger Berman, Aviva Investors, Henderson Global Investors, and Chase Manhattan Bank.

      Jonathan Isaac has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer of blockchain firm Digital Asset, creators of the Canton Network. Most recently, Isaac served as CMO at CoinMarketCap. He was previously Head of Marketing at the crypto exchange Gemini.
