All systems are go for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
But is your firm ready?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It addresses the export of personal data outside the EU.
Jamie Graves, CEO & Founder of ZoneFox said that the big green button has been pressed andGDPRis a go; now comes the real test. Many companies will have spent months looking to get theirdataand supporting processes in order for today, butGDPRis not just about May 25; the onus is on companies to be compliant not just today, but in six months, a year, two years and more.
As such, the question businesses need to be asking themselves now is, how do we stay compliant, Graves said. Organizations – very literally – can’t afford to stand still. They have to continue to evolve their policies and procedures; hone and refine them. But most of all they have to ensure they have absolute visibility into theirdata. Without that transparency, ongoing compliance gets a lot harder.
