ON THE MOVE: Blue Owl Capital Hires Machal Karim; InvestX Capital Adds Jonathan A. Clark and Dan Sanders

Machal Karim

Blue Owl Capital has hired Machal Karim as Head of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG). In this newly created role, Karim will be responsible for driving strategic direction and implementation of ESG principles across Blue Owl’s business operations and investments. Karim will report to Andrew Polland, Chief Operating Officer, and be based in Blue Owl’s New York office. Karim most recently served as a Manager in Development Impact at the CDC Group.

Jonathan A. Clark

InvestX Capital has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointments of Jonathan A. Clark, as President, USA, and Dan Sanders, as Executive Vice President, Private Markets. Clark will be responsible for managing InvestX’s go-to-market teams, leading efforts in client success and overall US operations. He brings over 30 years of experience spanning both the buy-side and the sell-side, most recently as CEO of Luminex Trading & Analytics. Sanders brings more than 25 years of finance, trading, equity, technology and sales experience, and has built significant client relationships over the years. Sanders joins InvestX from Liquidnet where he served as Head of Business Development, Americas.

Frank Pape

Frank Pape has joined Frontier Asset Management as a Director of Strategies. He has over 25 years of industry experience. Most recently he led the Portfolio Consulting Group and served as Senior Director, Consulting Services at Russell Investments.

Daniel Clayden has joined JP Morgan as Executive Director. He has over 25 years experience delivering technology solutions to the financial services industry in London, UK and internationally. Clayden joins from TradeStream where he spent the past three years as Chief Technology Officer. 

The Global Financial Markets Association (GFMA), which represents the leading global financial and capital market participants, has announced its new leadership team. Leonardo Arduini, Head of EMEA Markets at Citi, takes over as Chair of GFMA from Steve Ashley, Senior Managing Director, Head of Wholesale, Nomura. Adam Farkas, Chief Executive of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), takes over as CEO of GFMA from Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., President and CEO of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). Both Arduini and Farkas will serve for two-year terms. 

Sheila Mares and Ludvig Ragnarsson have joined Piper Sandler Companies. As a Senior Vice President based in the Denver office, Mares will oversee strategic initiatives and manage the organizational needs of the special district group’s expanded national team. Mares comes to Piper Sandler from D.A. Davidson where she spent more than eight years as a member of the banking and administrative teams. Ragnarsson joins Piper Sandler as a Vice President and will be the seventh member of the practice group’s industry-leading quantitative team. Ragnarsson also comes from D.A. Davidson where he spent more than two years as a quantitative analyst.

Cboe Global Markets has added Ron Boehm as Head of Americas Market Data Sales. Based in Chicago, he will lead Cboe’s sales efforts in the Americas region for Cboe’s full suite of market data and analytics offerings. Prior to joining Cboe, Boehm was a Sales Director for Connectivity & Feeds at ICE Data Services, part of Intercontinental Exchange.

Annie Morris has joined ACA Group as Chief Product Officer (CPO) to lead the firm’s integrated product strategy and vision. Morris is a pioneer in financial technology as one of the early female leaders in the OMS space. She previously led product management for Interactive Data’s (now ICE Data Services) Evaluated Pricing and Reference Data business and led Linedata’s North Americas business.

The Financial Technology Association (FTA) has hired Tom Davis as Vice President of Membership and Development. Davis brings over a decade of experience in directing, marketing, and developing membership-based organizations to his role at FTA. Before joining FTA, he worked as the Global Membership Director for Young Presidents Organization, a global member organization of over 30,000 chief executives.
