ON THE MOVE: American Century Investments Promotes Patricia Ribeiro; Alejandro Perez Expands His Role at BNY Mellon

Patricia Ribeiro

American Century Investments has promoted Patricia Ribeiro to co-chief investment officer (CIO) of the Global Growth Equity discipline. She will share CIO responsibilities for the larger Global Growth Equity discipline with Keith Lee, CFA and will report to American Century Investments Chief Investment Officer Victor Zhang. Ribeiro’s portfolio management role will not be impacted. Ribeiro joined American Century as a portfolio manager on the Emerging Markets strategy in 2006. 

Alejandro Perez

Alejandro Perez will take on an expanded role with oversight responsibility for Operations, adding to his responsibilities as Chief Administrative Officer at BNY Mellon. He will also join the Executive Committee. Bridget Engle will continue to lead Technology, which will be renamed to Engineering. Engle has been at BNY Mellon since 2017. She has a track record for driving innovation and digital transformation in the financial services market. Perez joined BNY Mellon in 2021. He previously worked at Unqork, Bloomberg and Goldman Sachs. 

Taryn Siglain

State Street has appointed Taryn Siglain as the firm’s global head of Enhanced Custody, its principal securities lending program. Prior to State Street, Siglain worked for Morgan Stanley, where she held a variety of leadership roles over her more than 15-year career including head of Americas Secured Funding Trading and Collateral Optimization. 

Siepe has named Robert Tomicic and Ann Kono to the company’s Board of Directors. Tomicic has over 20 years of experience in the fixed income, credit, and alternative investment space. He is the owner and founder of b.Kreps&Co. He also currently serves as a board member for Loan Ecosystem Online, a fintech platform for the syndicated loan industry. Kono brings over 20 years of asset management experience, specializing in the design and implementation of critical enterprise infrastructure. Prior to founding Leda Advisory Group, she served as the Chief Information and Risk Officer for Ares Management Corporation. 

Lazard Asset Management has appointed Larry Cohen as Managing Director and Global Head of Technology & Operations. Cohen joined the firm last August as a Strategic Advisor. He has deep experience across operations, technology, portfolio implementation, and operational risk from a variety of roles within the asset management and financial services industry, including positions at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS and, most recently, at AllianceBernstein where he was a Partner and Global Head of Operations and Technology.

Nigel Topping has joined ICE Benchmark Administration (IBA) as a board member. With a career spanning over 30 years in the public and private sector, he was leading global initiatives working towards solutions for climate change long before the topic became mainstream news. 

OCC has appointed Joseph Lewis, Managing Director, Co-Head of Corporate Hedging and FX Solutions at Jefferies, to its Board of Directors. Lewis brings more than 20 years of experience in interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives.
