TickSmith, a leader in Big Data applications for the Capital Markets and financial services, announced the launch of a new TickVault module - Marketplace Advanced Insights. The module is designed to help market participants better understand how they are performing, how their peers are behaving, and how they can adjust their strategies.

“TickVault already successfully creates a Canadian consolidated market from level 2 historical data,” said Francis Wenzel, TickSmith CEO, “and we now offer additional analytical solutions to exchanges, trading firms, market makers and regulators that disrupt the equity trading landscape in Canada.”

Exchanges benefit from the module by tracking their market liquidity and market activity by firm, trading venue, instrument, or any combination of the above. Based on these advanced metrics, exchanges can better pinpoint where to concentrate their efforts and optimize their business model. The module also includes a data fee methodology to determine each marketplace’s relative contribution to pre and post trade activities. Another important feature of the module allows exchanges to easily track significant metrics used with the Order Protection Rule (OPR).

“This new level of analytics against both top of book and market depth enables market participants to easily measure their performance against their peers using the platform’s web dashboard and data access tools,” says Marc-André Hétu, TickSmith CTO.
The module has already been implemented with Canadian data and the technology can be used with data from any source. A demonstration portal is also available on demand.
