ON THE MOVE: OTC Hires New CTO; Quotron Pioneer Passes Away

OTC Exchange Network, an institutional trading network and technology provider, has announced that it has appointed Drew Rasmussen as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the company. As OTCXN’s CTO, Rasmussen will be responsible for overseeing all technical design, technological resources, and technology development. Additionally, he will assist in developing the company’s own distributed ledger technology. He joins OTCXN with years of experience leading custom, ground-up Blockchain implementations for leading global firms adopting distributed ledger tech, including Overstock.com’s T0 platform, NASDAQ, State Street, and many other globally recognized financial institutions. He will report to Rosario Ingargiola, the company’s Founder and CEO.

The former head of European trading at State Street Global Advisors has joined the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), according to someone familiar with the matter. Dales Brooksbank - who departed State Street in July last year - joined the authority in October 2016 as head of equities trading in ADIA’s central dealing department. He worked at State Street’s asset management arm for over 10 years and was responsible for managing the day-to-day trading and execution for the firm’s fixed income, currency and derivatives trading in Europe.
Fidessa group plc hired Chris Monnery is now the US Head of Product Marketing for Electronic Execution. His focus at Fidessa is on defining product strategy and client delivery. Monnery onboards from Citi, where most recently he ran North American Futures electronic trading. Prior to that he was at Morgan Stanley, and so brings experience spanning prime services across equities and derivatives. He is based in New York and reports to David Polen, Global Head of Electronic Execution.
