ON THE MOVE: Nasdaq and NYSE, State Street See Summer Changes

Nasdaq has hired Simon Ringrose as managing director of sales for its Global Information Services data division, responsible primarily for sales of content delivered via the exchange’s Analytics Hub of alternative datasets. In addition to Analytics Hub, Ringrose is also responsible for sales of the Nasdaq Fund Network and other Nasdaq data products. Ringrose joins Nasdaq after six months as director of sales at events data provider Wall Street Horizon.

Rival exchange NYSE lost its chief information officer, Robert Cornish, last week to Gemini, the digital-currency exchange. Cornish will serve as Gemini’s Chief Technology Officer. At the NYSE, Mr. Cornish’s duties included overseeing Pillar, its technology project designed to  overhaul the bourse’s electronic trading systems. Before joining the NYSE, Mr. Cornish worked for over a decade at the International Securities Exchange.

Hamza Hoummady, the former head of European rates and options trading at Barclays, has joined Goldman Sachs as an MD on its macro strats team in London. Hoummady studied the infamous DEA with Statistics course in Paris before becoming an equity derivatives quant at Calyon and then moving into rates trading. 

Predata named Mars Spencer as VP of Financial Markets. Spencer joins the Predata team with 20 years of experience, most recently in institutional trading software and technology sales and business development. Mars joins Predata from FIS’ Global Trading group where he led execution algorithm sales to quantitative trading desks. Prior to this role, he was Vice President of Sales at Perseus, providing low-latency infrastructure solutions to high-frequency trading firms.

State Street Corporation has named Maria Cantillon as head of Sector Solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Cantillon, who previously served as global head of Alternative Asset Manager Solutions at State Street, will be responsible for leading and driving the sales strategy for the firm’s most important prospects and clients in the region. Previous to this role, she was head of Alternative Investment Managers at BNP Paribas Securities Services and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She will report directly to Liz Nolan, State Street’s chief executive officer for EMEA.
