ON THE MOVE: Macquarie Snags Kaye for Euro Cash Trading Desk

Macquarie Group has hired Daniel Kaye, a 17-year veteran of Credit Suisse, to run its European cash execution and sales in its commodities and global markets team. Macquarie said in a statement that Kaye will will work in its London office on as a Managing Director. Kaye has more than 20 years' experience of the pan-European and emerging markets.

David Quinlan, an 18-year veteran of Eze Software, was named as the company’s executive managing director of EMEA with responsibility for business development and a focus on the needs of growing numbers of EMEA clients within the scope of Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II).

Deutsche Bank has appointed former Tesco Chief Digital Officer Thomas Nielsen as Chief Digital Officer to drive the bank”s Global Transaction Banking digitalization strategy. Nielsen brings 25 years of experience in the fields of technology, operations and digital transformation - spanning engineering, product management, user experience and data science across a broad range of e-commerce, data and retail solutions. Most recently, he served as Chief Digital Officer with Tesco PLC, the U.K.’s largest multi-channel retailer, where he was responsible for a digital portfolio of platforms, websites, and apps, including Clubcard, Prior to Tesco, he spent more than 20 years in the US, predominantly in Silicon Valley and Seattle where he held executive positions at Brightcove, RealNetworks, Adobe, and Microsoft.

Replacing current CEO Len Brennan, Michelle Seitz joins Russell Investments from William Blair and is set to become chair at the start of 2018. Although there is currently no comment on possible new strategies for the firm, Russell Investments has been hiring significant positions throughout 2017.

Citi snagged Jason Massey of Morgan Stanley as its Futures Clearing and Collateral Sales Head. Massey, with more than 30 years of experience, left Morgan Stanley after 7 years there. He has also worked at UBS for over 22 years.

Intercontinental Exchange announced that Stuart Williams has been appointed as President of ICE Futures Europe and Timothy J. Bowler has been appointed President of ICE Benchmark Administration (IBA), both effective October 2017. Williams will assume the role following David Peniket’s retirement, and Bowler will succeed Finbarr Hutcheson, who will succeed Paul Swann following his retirement.

Strategic Insight’s LiquidMetrix, announced the hiring of TCA and market structure expert Chris Sparrow as Director of Trading Analytics. Sparrow will lead LiquidMetrix’s efforts in developing new trading and best execution analytics. He joins LiquidMetrix from the TMX where he introduced and developed market structure analytics. Prior to the TMX, Sparrow worked in various senior client-facing roles at RBC, Liquidnet and ITG as well as consulting to Canadian regulatory bodies and buyside firms.
