ON THE MOVE: BNP Paribas Bulks Up; BAML Adds West

BNP Paribas hired Matthew Salvner to head its Global Credit Markets Americas. Dan Cozine will be Deputy Head focused on primary markets activities.

The firm also appointed Christopher Blum as Head of Leveraged Finance for North America. In this role, the 20 year veteran will oversee the growth of all leveraged finance and high yield origination with all sponsor and corporate clients. Blum most recently was Co-Head of Leveraged of Leveraged Finance at Deutsche Bank.

Pascal Fischer

Lastly at BNP, Pascal Fischer has taken up the position of Head of Global Markets Asia Pacific. Fischer was most recently Head of Global Markets for Europe, Middle East & Africa, based in London. He reports to Eric Raynaud, CEO Asia Pacific and Head of Global Markets, Olivier Osty.

Parker Weil has joined Cowen and Company, as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking. Prior to joining Cowen, Weil served as Managing Director and head of the Industrials and Natural Resources investment banking group for Stifel Financial Corp.  He will be based in New York and will oversee a portfolio of Cowen’s sponsor and institutional relationships while also providing leadership to some of the firm’s critical growth initiatives.

eFinancial Careers reported Chet Varsani joined Goldman Sachs from Instinet, where he previously spent four years as a sales trader. Mark Warren also onboarded from Canaccord, where he spent three years as a sales trader and seven years in trade support.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch reportedly named Emma West as its head of futures and options, as well as over-the-counter clearing, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to a memo seen by Financial News. She was previously head of futures and options, OTC clearing and FX prime brokerage marketing in EMEA, a role that will now be filled by Rajeev Kumar, who already worked within the sales team and will report to West.

The European Trade Repository, has appointed new members to its Board of Directors. A member of the Board since the inception of REGIS-TR, Philip Brown has been appointed as the new chairman of the Board, succeeding Jeffrey Tessler. The new Vice-Chairman is Jesús Benito, following Jose Massa. Furthermore, Maurice Lamy and Francisco Nicolás have been appointed as new members of the Board of Directors.
