Cboe Global Markets Begins Rollout of Options on 11 Select S&P Sector Indices

Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (Cboe: CBOE ) began the rollout of options on 11 Select Sector Indices that comprise a sub-index of the S&P 500® Index, a key U.S. equities benchmark, further expanding Cboe’s suite of products tied to S&P Indices.

Select Sector options are designed to provide investors with an easy way to add exposure to particular U.S. industry sectors to their portfolios. The new options are expected to have particular utility for investors seeking an alternative to options on exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including European customers seeking an alternative due to certain European regulations.

Select Sector options also offer investors the benefits of cash settlement and European-style exercise, similar
to Cboe’s S&P 500 Index (SPX) options.

Cboe Options Exchange kicked off the rollout with the launch of options on the Materials Select Sector Index. The planned rollout schedule and index and options symbols for the remaining options are as follows:

February 7, 2019 Materials Select Sector Index SIXB SIXB
February 11, 2019 Communication Services Select Sector Index SIXC SIXC
February 11, 2019 Energy Select Sector Index SIXE SIXE
February 12, 2019 Industrials Select Sector Index SIXI SIXI
February 12, 2019 Financial Select Sector Index SIXM SIXM

February 14, 2019 Utilities Select Sector Index SIXU SIXU
February 14, 2019 Health Care Select Sector Index SIXV SIXV

Select Sector Indices are modified capitalization-weighted indices that track by sector the movement of companies that are components of the larger S&P 500 Index.

The options will be exclusively listed on U.S.-based Cboe Options Exchange, the largest of Cboe Global Markets’ four options exchanges.
