NYSE Floor Broker Polcari Joins O’Neil Securities

Kenny Polcari, a veteran New York Stock Exchange floor broker and media commentator, joined O’Neil Securities in December.

The move follows Polcari’s departure from ICAP in November, shortly before the British interdealer broker shuttered its NYSE floor operation.
Polcari has spent about 30 years trading stocks, mostly on the floor of the New York. About half that time, he worked for ICAP and its predecessor Garban Corporates, the corporate bond operation of Garban plc. He built the NYSE floor operation and an upstairs desk in Jersey City for the firm, an institutional money and securities broker.
ICAP, formerly Garban-Intercapital plc, was formed in September 1999 from the merger of Garban plc and Intercapital plc.
O’Neil Securities was formerly known as William O’Neil & Co., but was split off as its own entity in 2010. The brokerage is owned by O’Neil Data Systems, according to a filing with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Founder Bill O’Neil also owns the newspaper Investor’s Business Daily, based in Los Angeles.
Polcari himself is no stranger to the media, as he is featured almost daily on television and in the press, speaking from the floor of the New York. He also produces daily market notes known as “Market Recipe” segments, for Bloomberg TV.
