Staff Reports

ICAP’s Chris Ferreri has been elected chairman of the Wholesale Market Brokers’ Association Americas. He succeeds Shawn Bernardo, who is a senior managing director at Tullett Prebon.

The position of chairman is rotated every six months among the member firms of WMBA Americas, an industry body representing the largest interdealer brokers operating in North America.

Ferreri is managing director for hybrid trading at ICAP. He joined the firm in 2003. Prior to that, he worked at the chemical company DuPont.

"I'm excited to become chair of the WMBAA at this critical time as we continue to be deeply involved with regulators," Ferreri said in a statement.

The industry group also elected Christopher Giancarlo as vice chair. Giancarlo is executive vice president at GFI Group.
