Discount brokerage E*Trade Financial Corp. has named Frank Petrilli as its new chairman of the board. With than 30 years of securities experience, Petrilli was most recently chief executive officer of now-defunct Surge Trading. Previously, he was CEO of both TD Waterhouse and Nexxar Group. Petrilli replaces Steven Freiberg, E*Trade's current CEO, who had been the interim chairman since May, when former Citigroup executive Robert Druskin stepped down to become chairman of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corp.
Former MF Global execs Richard Parker and Anson Sager have joined Loop Capital to expand its equity sales and trading group in New York. Parker, a veteran of more than 20 years, was the former head of U.S. cash sales and trading at MF Global. Prior to that, he headed sales and trading at Sanford Group, as well as doing a six-year stint at SoundView Technology as head of listed trading. Sager, a 16-year veteran, was formerly a senior sales trader at MF Global and at SoundView. He reports to Chris Levin.
Shauna Lambright also joins the firm as a managing director in its transition management services group. Lambright, a 20-year pro, was head of transition management at Knight Capital Americas for the last three years. She reports to Kourtney Ratliff.
Patrick Fay joins Williams Financial Group in Dallas as director of equity sales and trading. Fay, a 32-year veteran, was previously managing director of equity trading and a three-year board member at Great Falls, Mont.-based D.A. Davidson & Co. He was a past president of the Nashville Security Dealers Association and a member of the Boston Stock Exchange Trading Committee. He reports to head of capital markets Claude Connelly.
Hedge fund administrator GlobeOp Financial Services has appointed Tim Ridley to its Cayman Islands subsidiary board, replacing Gary Linford, who resigned. Ridley was most recently chairman of the editorial advisory board of the Cayman Financial Review. He was also chairman of the Cayman Island Monetary Authority from 2004 to 2008 and is a former senior partner of international law firm Maples and Calder.
JonesTrading appoints Seth Michaels as managing director to head its new advisor services business. Michaels, a 20-plus year veteran, comes from Barclays, where he managed the firm's high-net-worth client financing business. Previously, he managed Neuberger Berman Clearing Services, which provides execution, reporting, custody and clearing services to correspondent broker-dealers, investment advisors and hedge funds. He reports to chairman and chief executive Packy Jones.
