IEX Trades for Charity on October 26

Traders Magazine Online News, October 25, 2017

It feels good to give back to the community.

And the heads of IEX, the U.S.’ newest stock exchange, are giving back by holding their third annual “K-Day” event to benefit ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) research. The event is spearheaded by John Schwall, COO and Co-Founder of IEX.

On IEX K-Day, every trade – displayed and non-displayed – of at least 1,000 shares executed on IEX contributes towards a donation to Wings Over Wall Street. On last year’s K-Day, IEX donated over $71,000 to WOWS.

So, what is the exchange’s connection to WOWS? It’s a personal one for Schwall, who shared with Traders Magazine that his mother suffered from the disease and fought ALS for many years before passing away.

“I’m proud of the incredible support that IEX and the broader industry have shown for Wings over Wall Street over the years,” Schwall said. “The fight against ALS is close to my heart, and it means a lot to me that we can come together to support research that can contribute to finding a cure.”
