ON THE MOVE: BTIG Adds Fixed Income Trio; JPM Snags DB Duo

Agency broker BTIG has snagged John Agnew, Drew Hall and Evan Jones, in its fixed income trading group. Agnew onboards as a Managing Director of Fixed Income Credit Trading. He will provide senior-level direction on the firm’s trading desk, executing transactions in various high-yield securities. Prior to BTIG, Agnew was a Senior Managing Director of High-Yield Securities at Guggenheim Partners. Previously, he was the Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of Summit Securities Group. Earlier in his career, he held a number of senior high-yield trading roles at BNP Paribas, Fleet Securities, Schroders, Nomura and Dean Witter Reynolds.

Hall joined BTIG as a Managing Director of Fixed Income Credit Sales. Prior to BTIG, he was a Managing Director of High-Yield Securities at Guggenheim Partners. Hall spent more than ten years as a Managing Director in the High-Yield and Distressed Bonds and Loans Group at Jefferies. Earlier in his career, he held similar roles at Miller Tabak Roberts, Fleet Securities and Citibank.

Lastly, Jones gets the title of Managing Director of Fixed Income Credit Strategy, focusing on high-yield and convertibles. Prior to BTIG, he was a Senior Vice President and Credit Analyst at Jefferies, focused on capital structure opportunities. Earlier in his career, he held similar roles at CIBC, ABN Amro and Bank of America.

All three will be based in New York, reporting into Drew Doscher and Darren Haines, Co-Heads of the Fixed Income Credit Group at BTIG.

JP Morgan has poached two of Deutsche Bank’s senior trading technologists, bulking up its electronic trading group. The US lured David Winig as global head of market data services and electronic trading infrastructure, and Leon Sirota to its fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) technology team in New York. Sirota was previously Deutsche Bank’s global head of algorithmic trading technology for over six years, before departing in January. Winig returns to JPM after serving almost eight years at Deutsche Bank, where he previously served as the CIO of the corporate banking and securities (CB&S) unit’s core trading technology.

 

Citi has promoted Antonin Jullier to global head of equity sales. Jullier was global head of equity trading strategy at Citi for five years and has held various positions at the bank since 2010. He joined as co-head of trading for EMEA equities before being promoted and has been a managing director with the bank since 2008.

Former global head of trading at AXA Investment Management has joined MarketAxess as head of Europe and Asia. Christophe Roupie has been tasked with driving MarketAxess’ global expansion and securing new business and product development opportunities. He was previously global head of trading at AXA for ten years and was global head of fixed income trading at Natixis prior to that.
