Cloud Message Archiving

Abacus Group and Global Relay have partnered together to offer integrated message archiving, monitoring and compliance services to the buyside.

The archiving system will be hosted in the cloud as part of the AbacusFLEX private system.

Abacus provides IT solutions to hedge funds and private equity firms. Global Relay provides institutions with compliance and monitoring systems.

The Dodd-Frank Act requires that hedge funds, private equity funds and investment advisors retain and monitor electronic messages. Now, thanks to the partnership with Global Relay, AbacusFLEX clients' email, Bloomberg, instant message, mobile text messaging and call logs, and social media communications including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook are automatically archived in the cloud.

"In today's challenging regulatory landscape, financial services firms must be able to store and access electronic business communications to remain compliant," said Shannon Rogers, Global Relay president and general counsel, in a statement.

Global Relay services satisfy Securities and Exchange Commission compliance requirements for message record-keeping and supervision such as SEC Rule 17a-4.

Global Relay Archive integrates email and messaging systems to deliver search, retrieval and monitoring capabilities. Its Web-based email archiving tools address the demands of regulatory compliance, audits and e-discovery while alleviating the burdens of data management, storage, security and business continuity.

In addition to the new archiving capabilities, AbacusFLEX offers full integration of front-office trading applications, back-office reporting systems, accounting systems and email and file management.
