*George Thomas, who had been running strategy and business development at Citigroup Global Investments, was named to lead Instinet's international equities. Thomas will report to Mike Plunkett, who is Instinet president of North America, as well as Tony MacKay, who heads up Instinet's international equities.

*Andrew Cinquina was named senior vice president of development at SunGard's Brass operating unit. Cinquina formerly worked at Goldman Sachs, where he ran the core transaction systems technology. In the new post, Cinquina will be responsible for all technology in the OMS product line. He will report to Cindy Foster, who is the executive vice president. For the last five years, Cinquina was responsible for development of Goldman Sachs' equity order management systems.

*Scot Landry moved from Eze Castle Integration to sister company Eze Castle Software to focus on strategic initiatives. Landry has over 10 years of senior level experience and was chief operating officer at Eze Castle Integration. Previously, Landry was a management consultant at Parthenon Consulting and Andersen Consulting. He was also a brand manager for James River Corporation and Procter & Gamble.

*Michael Rennell joined Linedata Services in Boston as head of global sales for Linedata's asset management division. Rennell was previously a vice president in sales and marketing at Newmarket International in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

*Pat Davis, a veteran Nasdaq trading executive at UBS and PaineWebber, has joined Guzman & Co. in Coral Gables, Florida. Guzman has launched a new equity trading operation, recruiting the prominent activist, Arthur Pacheco, for a top management position. Davis, with 25 years in the trading industry, will work as a senior institutional sales trader. He will work on both the listed and the OTC side.

*John Malitzis joined the New York Stock Exchange as a vice president with the specialist surveillance section of the market surveillance division. Malitzis was recently an associate general counsel for the institutional equities division of Citigroup Global Markets. Previously, Malitzis spent over eight years at the NASD and Nasdaq, serving in multiple capacities. At the Big Board, Malitzis will report to the head of market surveillance, Robert Marchman.

*Adam Sussman joined the Tabb Group as a consultant in its New York office. Previously, Sussman worked at Ameritrade as a senior product manager responsible for order management systems, routing and advanced trading tools for the equities and options markets.

*Peter Hull joined Tradeware as director of technology. Hull will oversee Tradeware's product development, product management and quality assurance groups. Previously, Hull spent 11 years at WestLB AG, most recently as director of electronic commerce.

*A former UBS Global Asset Management equity trader joined Loop Capital Markets. Michael Abellera was named senior vice president of quantitative equity trading at Loop. At UBS, he was director and senior equity trader, handling block and portfolio trading of listed and OTC stocks. Before that, Abellera was a structured equity trader and investment officer for Northern Trust Company.

*A 10-year State Street veteran has joined the Board of Directors at the DTCC. He's Alan Greene, executive vice president at State Street Corporation.
