Reducing the Risk In Trade Settlement

On the heels of the SEC's market structure reform proposals Regulation NMS comes a separate effort by the agency to shake up the trade processing industry. In a concept release, the SEC offers various ways to reduce settlement risk. These include the introduction of central matching,' as well as same day completion of the confirmation and affirmation process between buyside and sellside counterparties.
