Generous STANY Holiday Cheer

By Staff Reports

The Security Traders Association of New York made $25,000 in donations to five New York-based charities over the holiday season.

The following each received $5,000: City Harvest, City Meals on Wheels, New York City Rescue Mission, The Salvation Army, and Toys for Tots.

"[Each charity] has been really thrilled," said Kimberly Unger, STANY's executive director.

Marcia Stein, executive director, City Meals on Wheels, said the nonprofit organization gets over 50,000 contributions each year, but "not that many are at STANY's level."

Contributions are used to provide meals to disabled, senior citizens who wish to live at home.

"Five thousand dollars buys 1,000 home delivered meals," Stein said.
